The Legend of the Nine Dragons

The Legend of the Nine Dragons
Symbolising power, prosperity and abundance, the dragon motif is omnipresent in Chinese culture, featured in mythology, festivals, art, and astrology. This historical symbol became the crest of the Chinese Emperors, who were regarded as descendants of the dragon king.
Wazuzhu, which translates to ‘nine dragons’ in Chinese, is rooted in an ancient legend stating that the dragon king could transform into nine dragons in order to serve the world. The significance of the number nine is carried on by the belief that the dragon king had nine sons, each of which held specific duties as the heir protectors of the Earth and its people.
